A red sky in the morning. A (beautiful) shepherd's warning. Taken by New Ross Manager, Tom Hipwell at Kilkullen Hill, Ballindagin New Ross
After a dry start, rain will move in across Atlantic coastal counties extending eastwards during the morning and afternoon, turning to sleet in some areas, mainly in the north and northeast, with hill snow. Clearer conditions will follow later his afternoon and this evening. Becoming breezy, with freshening southerly winds.
Tonight will start out mainly dry in the east but scattered showers will become widespread by morning, some of them heavy, with hail. Some sleet also, mainly over high ground. Windy, with moderate to fresh west to southwest winds, strengthening further on Atlantic coasts. Minimum temperatures 1 to 5 Celsius.
