On June 6th we posted a picture from a Wexford farmer who had planted Maize crops under plastic following tough Spring sowing conditions.

The target was knee high Maize by July 4th. With the agri shows we got a bit distracted but Tom sent these pictures on July 11th.

This crop establishment is excellent and the growth today exceeds growth for previous years. This comes as a welcome boost as winter 2019 approaches.

Maize consistently has delivered good crops and is fast becoming very popular with dairy farmers and large beef fattening units.
