International Women's Day

International Women’s Day provides an important opportunity to showcase commitment to women’s equality and to raise awareness.  The day is celebrated and supported globally by industry, governments, community groups, charities, the media and many more.

The theme for the 2019 event is “Balance for Better”.

Following the success of last year’s celebrations members of Arklow Town Team have again organised an International Women’s Day Lunch to celebrate the special day which takes place on Friday 8th March.

From grassroots activism to worldwide action, we are entering an exciting period of history where the world expects balance. We notice its absence and celebrate its presence", InternationalWomensDay.com.

This year’s event will take place in the Arklow Bay Hotel from 12 pm to 2.30pm with tickets costing €25.  Guest speakers will include journalist Valerie Cox; Deirdre Burns, County Wicklow Heritage Officer and students from St Mary’s College, Arklow.

A raffle will be held on the day and all proceeds will go to C.E.A.R.T. Women’s group who do amazing work in County Wicklow.
