Spring Barley in Ireland's South East - Part 1
Spring work has now started in earnest and with soil conditions good and soil temperatures slightly above normal all bodes well for good seed bed conditions.
In 2018 we followed a maize crop and for 2019 we are following a crop of spring barley which hopefully will end up passing for roasting barley suitable for malt.
In these pictures the field has been ploughed and tilled, ready for sowing.
In a few days we will show you after the field has been sewed and we will reveal the variety of spring barley chosen by this farmer.
