“It takes the body 60 minutes to eliminate one standard drink which is 1/2 pint, small glass of wine, pub measure of spirit.

“By my own calculation, if you:
— Drink 10 pints, you can’t drive for 20 hours after the last drink.
— Have one bottle of wine, don’t get behind the wheel for eight hours following the last glass.
— Go on a real bender of 12 pints and six vodkas you will need 30 hours to recover after you’ve downed your last drink.
