Ambassador of India to Ireland

The town of Arklow was privileged to warmly welcome a visit from the Ambassador of India to Ireland Mr. Sundeep Kumar.

Following a lunch with officials of Wicklow County Council and the Arklow Municipal District the Ambassador gave his time generously in also meeting with Mr. Garrett Dempsey the Arklow & District Chamber President and Mr. Billy Tyrrell of Arklow Marine Services.

Arklow's Maritime History

Throughout the meeting held in the in the Maritime & Heritage Museum, the Ambassador received first-hand information of the maritime history & industry of Arklow; in particular on its boat building, lifeboat & fishing traditions.

Indian-Irish Relations

The visit is part of the Indian Embassy's provincial outreach program which aims to strengthen the relationship between India a number of counties in Ireland.
