October's Stay Safe message comes from Glen Fuels Kilmacanogue driver Peter Duffy.
Delivering oil for more than 20 years, Peter's delivery route takes him over the Wicklow hills; including, Ashford, Wicklow, Rathnew, Rathdrum, Lara and Roundwood.
"Please slow down to Stay Safe.
"A lot of people are rushing around on minor roads, especially during the school run. Gone are the days when minor roads were empty. You must now be prepared to meet a walker, jogger or cyclist around every single bend in the road. This will remain the case as long as Covid-19 precautions remain in place.
"Pointers to keep in mind:
- If you see a bunch of kids congregating on the corner, they are waiting for the school bus. Be prepared to stop suddenly.
- The roads are awash with leaves, which means stopping your vehicle will take longer."
