Many thanks to our Kilmacanogue driver Damien Douglas for once again showing courtesy to other road users on his delivery route in Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow.

This may sound like an advertisement but I wanted to give a special recognition to Glen Fuels in Wicklow and their excellent driver Damien who stopped his truck on a narrow winding road to let me and a friend ride by.  Wish there were more drivers like them.  Only takes a minute!

The email we received read as follows:

Was out on horseback this morning with a friend on a small, winding road in Enniskerry.  One of your drivers stopped his truck and waited for us to pass by before starting up again.  While it was only a minute of his time, we appreciated it so sincerely.  

For good and bad,  your drivers are moving advertisements for your company - and while I don’t use oil myself, I would wholeheartedly recommend a company that employs people like your driver!  I will also post this lovely story on some of the Irish equestrian Facebook pages - We are all appreciative of thoughtful drivers. 

Respect all road users:

Horses are emotional animals and spook easily. When overtaking, please do so at a snail's pace. If they're coming towards you, please slow down or stop...the larger your vehicle the more likely they are to get spooked. Our driver Damien Douglas showed excellent driving etiquette by stopping and switching off his small lorry on a narrow road.
