At Glen Fuels we strongly recommend kerosene additive before each heating oil fill to protect your oil fired heating system.
Each 200ml bottle of Exocet Cooker Additive treats 1,000 litres of kerosene and we recommend this goes into the tank before the home heating oil is pumped in.
For Warm Radiators:
Bacteria or sludge grows in heating oil tanks, mixes with the kerosene and then enters the heating pipes and radiators. This can result in costly repairs or radiators that are cool to the touch.
Exocet additive kills bacteria, protects your oil fired heating system and prolongs fuel life if your fuel storage tank has a low turnover.
Range Cooker Requirement:
All range cookers such as the AGA, Rayburn and Waterford Stanley are designed to be used with commercial kerosene (BS 2869: C2) with a specified upper limit char value (deposit/ carbon burn) of 20mg/kg.
Whilst there is nothing wrong with the quality of the fuel, changes in manufacturing technology require lower char values to assist better burning performance and heat output.
The char value of domestic kerosene (BS 2869: C2) seems to vary nationally in the range 16–30mg/kg, which can cause problems with heat output and controllability of the cooker.
Exocet cooker additive reduces char value, prevents "choking", reduces maintenance or repair costs and delivers hours of uninterrupted clean cooking and heat.
Exocet Additive Benefits:
- Lowers char value
- Reduces the build up of carbon deposits and soot
- Inhibits the growth of deposits in fuel storage tanks
- Minimises the potential for fuel tank corrosion
- Increases fuel shelf life
- Reduces service problems
